Stable Belt
Rather beaten up but genuine. The 49 Inf Div sign and the piece of Africa Star ribbon were found in the coin pouch. Quite good signs too - the original pattern of the 56 Indep Inf Bde sign (design selected since all three battalions bore a sphinx on their headdress badges (2 SWB, 2 Gloster and 2 Essex), the combination of the Beach Groups' sign and the battle patch of 3 Can Inf Div worn by 8 Beach Group (based on 5 R Berks) at the Canadians' invitation and the sign of 54 Inf Div - believed to have been worn in Normandy by 2 Herts (in 9 Beach Group) or 1 Bucks (in 6 Beach Group). The missing sign, judging by its shadow, was probably 3 Inf Div. The wearer had a 32 inch waist!

Very nice, almost as much as wishing I had a 32" waist, I wish I had a genuine Beach group sign on a 3rd Canadian Infantry Division sign as worn by the Liverpool Irish as part of 7 Beach Group.
P.B.
