TARTAN PATCH OF THE QUEENS GURKHA SIGNALS
Dear Fellow Members, and TARTAN PATCH Experts,
" Greetings!!!" Need your expert advice as to the Tartan Patch used by the Queen's Gurkha Signals. Is it the ROYAL STEWART TARTAN PATCH or the RED GRANT No 1 TARTAN. Both TARTAN PATCHES are quite identical. Attached pictures of both patches, for identification. Advanced thanks for any answers that I will receive. CHEERS!!! and REGARDS, GURKHA RIFLES |

From their history;
All the men were titled Gurkha Royal Signals and wore the badge of the Royal Corps of Signals, 'Jimmy'. Certain dress differences were soon established to set both British and Gurkha ranks of the Gurkha Royal Signals apart from their counterparts. But it was on the persistence of Major Gregory that the Regiment gained its prized Grant tartan and began its affiliation with the now 32 (Scottish) Signal Regiment (Volunteers). |

Dear 54Bty and 30 Sqn,
Thank-you very much for your answers. Perhaps if there was any British Officers who had served with the QUEEN'S GURKHA SIGNALs could definetly confirm the TARTAN PATCH backing worn on their slough hats. Appreciate your valuable answers. and hope to get a definite answer to this tread. CHEERS AND STAY HEALTHY!!! GURKHA RIFLES |
