Hi,
Just added photo’s from Roger Verner catalogue 1977 may be of interest, just found after having a sort out. Cheers, Dave Last edited by eddie; 01-05-22 at 04:39 PM. |

A crook and bankrupt whose sharp practice got a special mention in the notes on fakes by Laurie Archer I think.

Hi Alan,
Yes, luckily for me before my time as serious collector so never purchased from them. Dave Last edited by eddie; 25-07-20 at 03:41 PM. |

Notorious back in the day.
By coincidence I was rearranging book shelves today and came across this little pamphlet, from the '70's I think. |

What a super thread that is, bad news certainly spread rather faster than good, even back in those days

It is interesting that a number of people who were interested enough in, and knowledgeable about, badges to write books on them also turned to the dark side and produced, had produced, or simply sold, fakes.
That's three whose names have appeared on the forum over the last few years, all who have the letter 'r' as the last letter of their surname. Keith |
