That is a match. Thank you so much. I assume it is a blazer or mufti button. Looking at the construction: yes, it could be Indian, but I did not recognise it when I bought them many years ago. |

It is a small size (19 mm) anodised aluminium button and it does not have a backmark.
Attached is a new scan. Do you know what it is? |

A long internet search gave me plenty of pictures of buses and their drivers but no picture of a JMT inspector and his black buttons However, Jersey Motor Transport makes sense and I am moving it to my transport section. Thank you! |

I agree. C could be Celtic. The Star of the Order of the Thistle makes it a Scottish button. Like most of my unknowns the information one can gather from the button itself is not enough for finding an ID on the web. |

No. 86 has been identified in the Newsletter of the International Uniform Buttons Collectors Club as St. George's English Rifle Regiment, Australian Army. Would be glad of confirmation though as I also have one of these.

I have a decent set of these, but I may have overlooked the button. Can you let me know if it is in a News-Letter or in a Docu-File? What is the number of the issue? If it is a Docu-File can you put a scan of the top inch of the sheet on the forum? (I'll explain later, because it is quite complicated) regards, |

Searching for the Nairn Club I landed on the National Library of Scotland's Scottish Post Office Directories https://digital.nls.uk/directories/b...ced_search=yes The chapter with Edinburgh clubs (1898/1899) gave me two entries: - new club, 8-5 princes street, established 1787 - northern club, 91 george street, now the Royal Northern Club, founded 1854. Both are contenters for this button. The backmark is in a wide range: 1845-1907. As you wrote: 'more speculation'. |

I think 61 could be T&TCF and might be for the Trinidad and Tobago Cadet Force.
