Great pics showing the undress frock worn in the Zulu war with patch collar and cuffs. Also displays the pre 1881 practice of Fusiliers, Light Infantry and Highlanders wearing chevrons, including good conduct badges, on both arms, whereas the remainder of the Line wore them on right arms only. After 1881 the good conduct badges were moved to the left arm and rank chevrons were worn on the right arm only.
