Canadian Ordnance Corps Badge
Hello,
I recently acquired a Canadian Army Ordnance Corps badge (I believe it is probably a cap badge) that I cannot ascribe to a specific period. I'm hoping one of you who collects Canadian cap badges may be able to help identify it. It is very similar to the badge on page 189 of The Charlton Standard Catalog of First World War Canadian Corps Badges (First Edition, Charlton Press), however it lacks the scroll (Ordnance)across the bottom. The badge measures 41mm top to bottom and a maximum of 31mm across the top of the shield. It has two eyes on the back for a cotter pin type faster. It is made of brass and is well aged, giving it an almost copper-like finish. Any help you might be able to offer on its period would be most welcome. Thank you, Paul |

Hi Paul, Welcome to the Forum. An image would be helpful. The Charlton reference is not readily available.

Basically the badge in question, though there are minor differences. Note that Paul says there is no scroll. The badges without scrolls were usually collar badges.

That was my thought but you beat me to it. We don't get up early enough to beat the Canadians.
