Default Badges On Battle Dress Book

For some years I have been mentioning a book I have been writing on cloth badges. I can now report that it is finished and will go to press later this month. Publication date is 28th February. I am selling it myself but am talking to specialist booksellers who may stock it

Entitled Badges on Battle Dress ; An illustrated history of the cloth insignia worn on khaki and jungle green by Britain's Armed Forces 1939 to 1967 the book is in two volumes, runs to 1,200 pages and includes over 5,000 cloth badge images and 500 photos of the badges being worn. It has a Foreword by General The Lord Dannatt, Chief of the General Staff, 2006 to 2009. Cover price is £150 pounds. Delivery is likely to be by courier as Royal Mail prices are exorbitant.

Sample pages to follow in the next couple of days.

To receive further details email me at bob19391967@yahoo.co.uk

Sign me up to purchase please. A knee jerk purchase, I'll feel the pain later.

I have now received the proofs of the covers for the two volumes which are attached.

Thanks to all those who have expressed an interest so far.

Default Unidentified WW2 Battle Dress Badge

Hi

I am a Newbie who has been directed to this forum by a WW2Talk forum member as I am trying to identify a badge on my dad's WW2 battle dress.

He joined 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles at the beginning of 1943 and at the end of 1943 was attached to 9th British Infantry Brigade as Camp Commandant/Defence Platoon Commander landing on Sword Queen White on DDay, travelling through France, Belgium and Holland before ultimately becoming a "Town Major" in Bad Oeynhausen in Germany in November 1945 until demobbed in March 1946.

I've attached photos of his battle dress and the badge I am trying to identify is the dark blue triangle under the 9th Brigade stripes?

I am guessing it is something to do with 9th Brigade (Headquarters?) as I have photos which seems to show other officers and ORs from 9 Brigade HQ wearing similar but would appreciate guidance/confirmation from the experts....

Please let me know if this in correct thread and/or should be posted elsewhere.

Thanks.
