Newfoundland Cap Badge Reference

This is a shoulder title I recently aquirred, a curved one with the prefix royal above it. I understand this would be a late war period title as the regiment was given the prefix royal in September 28th 1917. I have seen 2 others titles like this and they were held by the nephew of one the men who was in the first 500. However the interesting thing was this particular solider was killed a few months before the title royal was bestowed upon the regiment. But apparently the titles were sent home with personal affects along with some buttons and a cap badge as I recall. Anyone wishing to comment with more info on this badge please do so!

Thanks Jon. I really can't make out the construction from the image. Is the Royal sweated/soldered to the Newfoundland, or is the title one piece construction.

Speaking of Newfoundland Badges, I recently bought a very old collection, and among the badges was this "I have offered" badge. First I`ve ever seen...

Hi merk, Do you have some history on that pin? First War, Second WW? It is the first one I have seen. It has a double maker mark?

No real history on it Bill. Dual marked. Geo. Lees and T.J. Duley and Co. which is a Jeweler in NFLD. It came with an old First War collection. No Second War items were with it, although it did have a fair number of other pins, including Masonic and other Lodge items, all pre 30`s. Also a couple of items I`ve yet to identify.

Like this Viking. Any ideas? Maybe a 197th pin of some type?

The I have offered badge was awarded out to the men who tried applying to the regiment and or royal navel reserve for offering their services for king and country. Typically what I have gathered though they were awarded to those men rejected from service medically unfit or things like that. Haven't seen to many these come up . This one is a bit strange though at the top of the badge were usually numbered from the others I have seen.
