I joined the MHS in the 1970`s and have been fortunate to obtain a complete set of the Bulletins. I would say in some respects the Bulletin today is more "readable" than ever.
I could certainly recommend the Society but equally a number of members here are also members of the Military Heraldry Society which has another very readable and well illustrated magazine and is also well worth joining. P.B.

Mhs
I go along with PB on this - Both the Military Historical Society and the Military Heraldry Society are very worthwhile organisations and, in my view , a must for anyone with the kind of interest that appears daily on this Forum. The 1970s were very 'conservative' days for the MHS when John Gaylor was National Secretary and meetings were held at the Duke of York's HQ on the Kings Road in Chelsea. trading was frowned upon - although everyone did it ! I was based in the East Midlands in those days and succeeded Dixon Pickup as East Midlands Chairman - ahh - heady days !!! Must go - time for my afternoon nap or Matron will get very cross !! Regards. David
