Lots of comment here.

Personally speaking I thoroughly enjoyed the film. I thought the early no mans land scenes were excellent and uniform detail bar a few minor points really well executed. Clearly dramatic effect plays a big part in a film designed in the main for an audience not steeped in WW1 history or the chain of command. It certainly had the audience in my cinema hooked for two hours.
