Alan,
The 7th to the best of my knowledge ( in the badge world I think it is best never to say "never ") wore the all white metal badge in all forms of dress.

Like the 5th Bn, the 7th Bn appear to have worn bi metal badges during WW1 when nothing else was available.

Peter,

I am sure that you are 100% right about bi-metal WW1 badges. Following on from another thread that KLR posted a while ago about TF regulations for walking-out dress, the removal of No1 dress in 1914 may have been the end of the all wm (ie No1 dress) badge. If this is the case it then raises the question of when they came back into use particulalry as the post 1926 badge is also found in all wm?

Alan

Ten quid, good effort!
You can find real bargains on eBay, if you know what you're looking for.

[QUOTE=Alan O;51567]Peter,

The one question that I have left is whether this badge was used on all forms of dress or was reserved for the Bn's No1 Dress hats (walking out dress)?

Alan, I have an officers silver plated 1927-38, Ludlow - 1927-8.

the White horse of Hannover rearing l on a torse, with alternative twists, below, a scroll inscribed KING’S in ‘Old English’ letters. Shallow die cast silver plated. Slight crack at tail joint, slightly curved. NS plated blades – S broken off, 25. H 43, W 44, Wt 12.17g.
