After being forced to listen THE SINGING and watch face pulling off video's by bring me the horizon by my nearly 18 year old son for the past year and all the harsh words I've shouted at him, I can't wait to hear the orchestral version and that's made me smile

Bring Me are ace! They will have an orchestra playing with them but still playing. How can you not like them? Sempiternal was the best album in ages. Your son know's whatsup. Ask him if he likes Mallory Knox or Of Mice and Men or Architects...

Back in the day I used to work in a record shop. One of my favourite memories is the feeling that no matter who came in to the shop, whatever music they were looking for, be it Vivaldi, Metallica, Alanis Morissette or Blues we had something in common; the appreciation of music.
I feel that way about the Forum too. There are members from every walk of life, of different age, of different vocation, but the one thing we have in common is the appreciation of badges. I like that

Good day all,

Haven't noticed many replies from this side of the Auggie, so I'll put my nickel's worth in. As Alli says, after a bad day the following tunes get me back in the groove...Paul Simon "You Can Call Me Al", AC/DC "Thunderstruck", Steppenwolf "Magic Carpet Ride", Handel "Hallejuah Chorus", ZZ Top "Sharp Dressed Man".

Canadian bands I have seen in concert...Rush (gotta love "Red Barchetta", "Closer To The Heart" and Time Stand Still"), April Wine (although you folks across the main may not have heard of them) "Drop Your Guns", "I Like To Rock", "Rock 'n' Roll Is a Vicious Game" to name a few.

Certain military band music, both brass and highland, "Caber Feigh", "The RCR March Past", "British Grenadiers". GOOD classical music, Beethoven, Handel, Tschaikovsky's "1812" (none of the modern atonal crap, thank you! Oh yeah, Gregorian chants too.

Eclectic?? You don't know the half!!

Stay safe, have fun, rock on!!

Ian

Rush is an institution within the metal scene, even today. Neal Peart is legend, and Geddy Lee paved the way for many a bassist/singer. They pretty much set the standard for progressive rock/metal. Love most of their material. Canadians have brought a lot to the rock scene. Bryan Adams, obviously, but more importantly to me, Devin Townsend. Canada rocks!

I fear that 2016 is turning into a bad year for Music. The breaking news is that Glenn Frey , lead guitarist with the Eagles has died aged 67. I love this band to the extent that I travelled to Sedona just to see where they wrote a lot of their stuff. It is devastating news. The band has some memorable music.....Desperado being my favourite. This following on from Bowie, Lemmy, Mott the Hoople........etc ...who is next?Thank you Glenn Frey. You made a difference to this world.

Look on the bright side, the child murderer Black has shuffled off, let's hope it's the start of a good year for seeing off more scum like him. The likes of Brady, Huntley, Sutcliffe, the Baby P killers and all the other filth that should have been strung up a long time ago. That would certainly cheer me up!!.

This morning's musical accompaniment to tearing up Fenland roads. From one of my favourite movies, Watchmen.
