The forum definitely isn’t on its arse. There are a few on here who can occasionally behave like arses but that’s a story for another day.

This is a fantastic place with many knowledgeable members who I greatly respect and have learned a great deal from over the years.

As a couple others have mentioned every day is a school day here with something new and interesting to learn and even if it may not be within my collecting field I enjoy reading most threads.

So thank you to Mike and the mods for this site.

Well said Luke, I agree — to me, this Forum has been an invaluable source of information and goodwill. Long may it be so to others!

Happy holidays to all,
Donovan

You most certainly have not got the info from two of those and neither has anyone else on this forum.
It depends on what you call rare insignia but I seriously doubt that 99 percent can be confirmed by you or this forum but I guess whatever makes someone happy makes them happy.
If these ardent Know Everything about SF retained 95% in their head, then i fail to see the benefit of them having this info?
Knowledge is power....maybe.
BUT, i will share what knowledge i have on all manner of topics. If i am unsure, i will say so.
I have moved on NON SF pieces, that i know 100% the story behind, which makes the item more interesting.
Years ago i tried to educate an expert on here, was told i was talking trot, until a few years later there was a photo in the public domain. Every day is a learning day.
I like being a member on here, even if due to life events this last 18 months, my contributions may have dried up.

Happy New Year Jon!
Maybe that person has that knowledge because they've researched what other people haven't. Research is a fascinating word because it can be used to describe many different ways of looking at a subject. As the old saying goes 'there's more than one way to skin a cat.'
