Default HPC Question

Hi Guys,

Really obvious question I'm sure, But HPC = Helmet Plate Centre? All I would then need is a star and crown outside plate to make it complete?

Again sorry if this is really obvious, but I've seen one to the 50th I like the look of and would like to make it complete.....

ATB,
Tom

Hi Tom,

By star and crown, I assume you mean the Helmet Plate, you would also need to know which crown, I suppose it being the 50th, it would be a QVC ?

The other point of couse, is whether the centre is O/R's ( I guess for one that early, it would be to an Officer ), or Officers', K.& K. only describe the 50th foot ( 1878 - 1881 ), is that to the Royal West Kent Regiment ? I couldn't find an example.......

I'm starting to confuse myself now, can you give an example of what you mean as a reference ??

That's it. I've gone.

Dave.

Hi Dave,

Sorry, it is the RWK, not the 50th, oops, it has 3 of the 4 lugs if that helps ;-) ;-) Would it be easy to find the said plate to fit the HPC to?? I have a soft spot for the 50th/RWK

Tom

Hi Tom,

You now have to decide the era, QVC or K's C, the second part of the problem is finding a genuine plate, if you just want to display the H.P. with the centre and you aren't too bothered about it being original, then just type Helmet Plates in your ebay search engine box and you will get quite a few examples, the rest, as they say, is up to you.

Good luck.

Dave.
