What a splendid find.

A King Edward’s Horse Officer's pouch belt with a Regimental pouch belt badge (in the style of KK 1506) worn between the lion’s head holder with three chains and a whistle and matching pouch badge worn 1910-24.

The Officer’s pouch belt badge was finished in gilt and was attached using three screw posts. The Officer’s pouch itself bore a distinctive King Edward’s Horse Officer’s pouch badge in fire gilt with inter-twined letters KEH within a laurel wreath surmounted by a King’s Crown and with three fixing bolts to the rear.

Great to see, Dean

Thanks everyone. This matches everything I received from another source yesterday but has a lot more detail in time dating it. I appreciate the info.

Put the badges in some white vinegar for an hour or two..... then clean them with a tooth brush and some washing up liquid. See the difference

Here ae a couple of nicer pics with a bit more detail. The belt is in incredible condition, now I'm just wondering about using some mink oil on the pouch clasp / tab to prevent it from tearing.

Thanks for the better pics Del - stunning item. Personally I would not be cleaning the front of the badges at all just leave them with their original gilt finish. As for the belt I will leave that to others to suggest a recommended leather preserving agent.

Cheers Dean

I agree with Dean, don’t clean the badges. Immersion in vinegar will certainly over clean them. As for the leather there are definitely members on here who can suggest the best way to keep it supple and preserve its good condition.
