Default 18th (LH) KLR

18 (LH) KLR about 1918.
The officer on the left of the group is second lieutenant William Claude Bates WADE, formerly Army Service Corps (Temporary SSM) before being commissioned into the KLR September 1918.
Emigrated to Canada where he died in 1967.

Very interesting to see the Yeomanry cap badges still in use. These are rare badges (but widely faked) as I believe they stopped wearing them in 1920 when they converted to RA.

It is interesting to see the red rose badges, Alan. According to Graham Maddocks in his book 'Liverpoll Pals' a lot of leeway was given regarding the wearing of cap badges after amalgamation, with some Lanc's Hrs (as these) choosing to wear their old badge rather than the eagle and child, with standard 'King's' titles for the shoulder.
I think it's interesting that just one officer in this group has chosen to wear Liverpool collars.

Particularly interesting as the pals officers had their own collars , same design as the cap badge and in non facing pairs.
