RGH OSD Tunic for comments
A recentish purchase from eBay.
Buttons are Royal Gloucestershire Hussars, collar badges are missing. I've noticed the holes where the collars were fitted have been altered at some point. Begs the question was there a change of Regiment? Three pocket buttons 20mm Firmin missing, also one 23mm Firmin button missing. The label is named and I assume dated 1947???? Any help to identify the original owner would be very much appreciated. Tony. Sorry about 90 degree images.

Hello,
2741682 Cadet Colin Bryan VOAKE was commissioned as 2nd Lt. in the Wiltshire Regiment on 7.2.1948 as no. 387255. The dates on his label probably relate to his Officer Training at the Barracks in Chester. He transferred to the Royal Artillery on 11.5.1953 and promoted Lt. on 25.1.1954. these changes would account for the collar badges. regards

And Lieutenant Voake has correctly oriented his rank pips - just as one would expect form a Wiltshire officer.

Possibly an officer cadet at the OCS Eaton Hall, Eccleston, Cheshire with the uniform made in Chester.
In the 1950s, candidates for National Service commissions, which were unlikely to last more than two years, received a cut-down version of officer training, lasting for sixteen weeks, either at the Mons Officer Cadet Training Unit at Aldershot or the Eaton Hall OCTU near Chester. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eaton_Hall,_Cheshire Tim
