Default The Queen's Own Hussars

I have this badge in my collection and just wondered what you think of it . Looks old and looks like it has been blackened at some point in time > Gooden or Baden ?

As I served with the QOH from 1985-1993 . I believe I have the answer to your querry on the said badge. Why the Black !. In recce troop we used to paint them . Also the Sqn's deployed to NI would do the same. This takes away the Shine away. Dosn't give away your position on Op's

Tony,

The blacking is not the surprise. It is the fact that the badge is in bi-metal instead of staybrite anodised aluminium. Kipling and King's book only show it as staybrite so can you tell us was that type worn by the regt and were they private purchase to replace the issued staybrite ones or issued from the QMs?
