I have only ever encountered the flat topped plum die in BB finish. However, it very clearly was worn by DHY, see BROOKIES excellent RPC:

To date I’ve not seen a named or readily identifiable picture showing another regiment wearing those distinct plumes, but, as I said that doesn’t preclude its wear by another necessarily.

Only after I sold you the flat topped plume type did I come into possession of the 1916 tenders which show beyond any doubt both DHY and RWY wore the same pattern badge. Ergo if one of the former is wearing it then technically the other could, especially as it’s a wartime photo. But, proof above in the RPC it was worn by DHY and it certainly looks very dark, however if you are unhappy I’ll gladly take it back.

Also remember WO parlance for both BB and bronzed finish was the same i.e. ‘bronzed’.

Just how precious the WO and regiments would have been about the shade of their ‘bronzed’ finish in wartime is debatable especially when polishing a BB badge can send it a lighter shade eventually. Plus we know there was an order to polish for Yeomanry circa 1914.
