That is an interesting point. I have only seen that maker on a/a badges dating from 1968-70 such as the proposed merger of the Glos and Hants and the short lived TA badges from 68-9. I would agree that any metal one would date from then. It has already been mentioned in another thread that documentary evidence shows that the 8th Hussars wore the k/c badge until their amalgamation.

Note silver coloured metal collar badge. Silver coloured metal horseshoe denoting trade as farrier, Silver coloured metal 'Castle' arm badge over Sergeants chevrons. Taken prisoner in Crete May 1941. |

You will also see on the uniform Epaulet was 'NH' denoting Norhumberland Hussars.
