Default Forum Member ‘Poona Guard’.

Has anyone else received PMs from this person requesting images for their ‘next book’?

To Poona Guard…

If you read this, could you please reply here on the open forum, as I’m a little unsure how legit your interest in members’ badge images/knowledge is, and you seem reluctant to reply privately via PM.

You PM’d me five months ago asking for permission to use an image from the GWF, which I did not post and which isn’t mine, and when I explain this to you and ask you to respond, you completely vanish.

Now, today, five months later, you PM me with the same mysterious request.

Could you please clarify what is going on?

With thanks,

JT

If it is David Bilton I had a message asking for permission to use a picture of a relative I posted on the GWF a week ago for a book he's writing on cloth badges.

I sent him a hi res version.

I've had a similar issue trying to contact Tyneside Chinaman on the GWF. He posted a scan of a postcard of a relative in WW1 uniform with his name which wasn't on the front so there must be information on the back.

I've been trying to contact him for a few years now but he just won't reply to posts or PM's. I've now found out it's John Sheen who wrote the Tyneside Irish and Tyneside Scottish books and have asked his publishers to pass an email on, still nothing.
