Default Great War Yeomanry 1914 set

Hi all,

Lucky 13 shoulder titles to go. Thanks to Longdog (Pat B.) I have been making serious dents in my wanted list.

Happy to hear from members with spares I need.

Cheers Dean

Nice set Dean

BTW you need two badges for the LYPAO Great War period ..... you have the 1914/15 badge I see.... but you also need the 1916/18 ORs

STs = Gm T/Y/LEICESTER (1914/15) then separate brass letters L/Y/C (1916-17) for the ORs

Thanks Griff but had added wrong images corrected now. I am going to just have a representative 1914 set and yes missed a T Y Leicester ST last week but I remember when you couldn't find them and then within a day you had a pair so you never know, cheers Dean.

They do come up from time to time.... expect to pay around £70 for "one".

Your Cheshire Yeomanry badge looks post second world war with the splits between the feathers. Or is it an officers badge?

Rgds, Thomas.

Excellent, a bit more work to do and of course, sadly, more expense, but, certainly a good start to a difficult task these days.

Hi Dean
An inspiration, just like your cavalry board. And you were putting this together with a new arrival on the way? You're a better man than I for sure.

New daughter notwithstanding, if you do have a moment eventually, I'd appreciate a look at your Yorkshire Hussars. I've had three of these, none of which I've been happy about. I'm loathe to try for another until I'm absolutely clear on what features an original possesses. Especially the configuration of the jewels in the coronet.

Thanks again for showing and also for stirring up some constructive criticism and advice which I'm sure will not only help you, but everyone with a similar interest.
Mark

Is the Montgomeryshire dragon the real thing?

Left is fake, middle and right are genuine. Personally I prefer the right hand example as I feel the horse has a better face. There is also a GM version produced from this die, my example is shown here: https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...27&postcount=4

Okay, thanks for the photographs, to be quite honest, if it were mine, I would not be happy with it and would seek a replacement.

The Yorkshire Hussars has now been swapped for a spare I have that as Luke has kindly advised is correct for 1914. It has a brass reinforcing strip to the rear.

Slowly going through the others, cheers Dean
