Default Castle Commando

A comment on the times in which we live:

The BBC website - apropos of the programme Castle Commando a couple of evenings ago, currently describes the Commando Training Centre Achnacarry as a "paramilitary academy". Word fail me...............(and Lt Col Vaughan must be spinning in his grave)

Talking BBC

Probably thought they were airborne troops . . !

Be fair, they did include the word "military", so they headed in the right direction.

hi mike,

watched the progamme to.

i agree, suppose the word "para military" might be more common these days, especally this side of the irish sea,but those guys were all volunteer soldiers of the regular army.

by the way after haveing watched sykes and fairburn in the progamme i would not like to have met them in a dark alley at night

A shame, as on the whole it was well done. But I shuddered too. OK, I watched it when originally shown on BBC4... but missed that faux pas.

Interesting coincidence. I read the book just last year.

Does anyone know where I might see a copy of the film?

Cheers all
