Seller says 100% original and been in his collection for 35 years, I have my doubts, the backing looks wrong and the spacing and font seems off in the letters, the wings look off too. Mike

I had quite a discussion about these starch backs. The 1 Can Para Bn was back in Canada by June of 1945. The starch backs appeared on the scene about that time, or even a bit later....
Were the starch backs ever worn by the unit? NOTE: I am not saying they are repro, but I am saying that they came available too late to be on issue for the unit...and like the other units of the Canadian army, 1 Cdn Para were only authorized to wear printed titles.
