G'day BC

The states units, Victorias was Victorian Mounted Rifles, amalgamated post Federation (1901) and post Boer War, so that has to make it 1902 or later for the title of "Light Horse".

I hope that helps.

Regards

Phil.

Australian Light Horse was a designation allotted to mounted units in Australia from July 1903 onwards. A/CPDV was Calcutta Port Defence Volunteers up until about 1917 - that blackened brass title might have been worn by the battery that served in East Africa because I think their normal titles were in whitemetal.

The WB is not Australian that I am aware of, and I would question whether the ALH is Australian.
