Default Little Bighorn Relic

I hope I am posting this in the right category. A friend recently bought a group of dug relics from the Battle of Little Bighorn, often referred to as Custer's Last Stand. In the lot were quite a few buttons and he kindly shared one with me, and with with another friend. I don't really collect American militaria, but this button is a real treasure to me and one that I will keep with my ACW buttons, one, which another friend gave me that still has a small piece of original fabric attached to it. The button is complete with the shank and again a real treasure.

Sorry the picture is not better.

Terry

PS - One of the buttons had the number 7 with crossed sabers on it, and I can totally understand him keeping it.

A superb relic, truly one of those “ if only it could talk” items. Little Big Horn has been a passion of mine since I can remember. Benteen was the unsung hero of that sorry saga, the less said about Reno and Custer the better …
