Blackwatch bone buttons 5th perthshire volunteer battalion
Hey
So I know what that are and I think I know when they were worn from 1887 and 1908 my question that I cant seem to find is why did they make them from bone like this? Were they for when they were in south africa ? Cant see any others online :/ T X Not mines I'm just trying to make the description right |

The buttons are of horn rather than bone, black horn buttons rather than metal were commonly worn by Rifle regiments such as the KRRC.
