KLR Officers Cap Badge.
Hello Chaps,
My search for a post 1926 full size KLR Officers cap badge is not working out very well, I keep ending up with what I think are beret size badges! I've attached an image of the latest badge that I've been sent alongside an image of what I'm fairly convinced is a full size KLR OSD badge. This OSD badge is 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" and I've been trying rather unsuccessfully, so far, to get a silver/gilt badge that is the same size. Could someone please confirm that such badges do exist, and hopefully give me some idea where I might find one. I've transferred my KC Officers collection to another sheet of cardboard to get the spacing sorted for final framing. I have used a few ORs badges for temporary gapfillers, as some of the Officers badges that changed during the KC period, like the KLR badge above, are proving none too easy to locate. Anyhow, I've attached several pics of my progress so far, I have decided to settle for a total of 135 badges, mostly because that seems to be how many will fit fairly comfortably into an A1 frame.

Yes, very nice, Peter, but like those I see on dealers websites, I can't tell how big they are. I keep getting badges that are the same size as the pre 1926 versions.

Yes, JT, that's a very good idea, it's obviously a bad idea to expect dealers to know exactly what it is that they are selling!

The larger officers silver and gilt post 1926 badge certainly appears to be a lot less common than the smaller version introduced in the 1950’s and in due course worn on all types of headdress but even without knowing the dimensions it is possible to determine from photographs if a badge being offered is the larger or smaller version .

Hello Peter,
Just out of curiosity, although not an Officer's badge shown in the pictures. Would you have a badge with a similar design to this one in the top three rows of your great display board? And that's if this badge is an original and not a fake. I'm trying to match it by the horse's tail  Cheers, Invest

Ah, well, many thanks, chaps, the search must go on, I still need a silver/gilt pre 1926 badge, I'm using the rather different, smaller post 1926 version as a gapfiller at the moment. As JT suggests, it might well be helpful if I include the dimensions required, the next time I try to buy a post 1926, full size badge. I'm guessing that it will need to be about 1 3/4", the same as the OSD, that I already have, the smaller type seems to be about 1 1/2"

The first picture is of the nicest post 1926 officers silver and gilt cap badge I have.
The second picture is of one of a couple of unofficial Foreign Service cap badges I have ,made in white metal but with a gilt wash on the title scroll which I assume was to make them officers silver and gilt badges P.
