Default H.M.S. Cap Tally

Hi one and all I have acquired this H.M.S. Cap tally and I’m trying to find out if it’s kosher or not, it’s 40in long and 1 1/4 in wide.
And if there have been reproduction H.M.S. Tallies made?
TIA
Graham

Post 1984 weave from what I can make out and probably genuine. I have a few sealed packets of these, but unfortunately I can't get to them at the moment.

Hi Andrew thanks for that, one question your answer has started going around in my mind who was issued an HMS tally post 1984 as I thought the practice went out at the end of the WW2.

Wartime issue of HMS ribbons was still in use until 1948 at least and I have several photographs of WRNS taken in the 1950's where they are wearing just HMS. Stocks of these ribbons were held for many years and used for various reasons.

There are a few threads on this subject.

It might be worth posting this in the Royal Navy section?

Andrew, That is an awesome picture, and love seeing that they still wore he HMS tally in the '50s. Do they still wear it?
