Thanks, I was born in Walton Hospital so consider myself a scouser now living in the South! Must brush up on my Liver Bird recognition skills.

Liver Bird was my first thought, could it be a clumsy representation of Liver and laurel?
The wreath doesn't quite seem right for NZ fern.

I told you it was from Trinidad & Tobago before anyone else did!

Interesting to hear that you were born in Walton Hospital. Have a look at the appended badge image. It shows an exceptionally good representation of a Liver Bird!!!

Dave,
Thanks, indeed you called it first! The Hospital badge reminded me that I wore the silver on dark blue Liver Bird badge as a scout in the 1960s.

My mother and father also wore it. They were Cub and Scout leaders in the Liverpool, Merseyside and Sefton areas from 1945 through to the late 1980s!
