Victorian Harps.
Has anyone got an idea as to how many VC badges or Glengarrys featured the Irish Harp?

I would suppose trying to number the various badges with harps from that period to be laborious undertaking!

Do you mean just OR cap and glengarries? Or would this be inclusive of collar badges, officers badges, helmet plates, Irish militia badges etc.?
Also re Irish harp do you mean any harp or specifically the harp of Erin with the lady on it? |

Ah.. it seems it's a more complex question than I thought when I asked. I fondly thought that there were only a few regiments and one harp. I'll have to do more research myself rather than pick people's brains. It'll fill the time in. Thanks for the replies.

Even the Leicestershire Regiment have an officers forage cap badge featuring a harp. I believe it’s related to an honour bestowed on the Leicester Militia, an antecedent, for meritorious service during the Irish Rebellion of 1798.

There are two that I know of:-
The Harp of Erin as worn by the Royal Irish Rifles and the Royal Irish Fusiliers (and 8th Bn KLR !) The Harp of Brian Boru as worn by the Royal Irish Regiment and the Connaught Rangers |

Many thanks for the replies. Now it's down to sourcing said badges, some of which I have.
