Calgary Armoured Regiment
Recently received a relatives medals/Badges/Momentos. Calgary Regiment And BC Dragoons.
Looking for more info on the 14RCAR as I’ve been told it wasn’t an official insignia and mostly likely acquired post war. What was the reason for this? Medals: Italy Star Medal 1939-1945 Medal The Defence Medal Canadian Volunteer Service Medal Other Items: Karl Troop Cross Kaschie Lighter 5 Lire military currency 20mm? Bullet tip Unknown Vial in metal case. Chinese writing |

"Royal" designation wasn't bestowed until 2nd August 1945 ?

That is correct Mike, and 1 CAB was disbanded prior to the granting of the Royal honour.

How common are the 14RCAR badges? Are we able to trace them to a single private manufacturer? Or were they commonly reproduced by many? And for what purpose? Post war recognition?
