Default More unusual badges

I would be grateful for any information from learned members on the following three badges from my collection please.
1. Coldstream Guards? Tests silver, no fixings on back.
2. Unusual with Feur de Lys on shield. Sterling
2. Imperial Frontiersmen. Officers Badge? Silver with gilt wash. I would welcome any information on this unit.

I think the Royal Arms is for civilian wear. Nothing like a military piece.

Not a lot of help, but when this thread was first posted I scoured eBay for a similar item I'd seen there,an item converted from a brooch to lug fittings to wear or just to sell as a "Royal Irish Regiment WOI's" wrist band insignia.

I couldn't find it but just came across the eBay item by chance - somewhat similar but not a hollow struck item.

eBay item:

Default Royal Irish Regiment WO 1s badge?

Hi Leigh,
Many thanks for the eBay link which I have followed. It certainly looks very similar with the Fleur de Lys and the one large and 3 small lions in top left quarter of shield. I could not read the hallmark on the eBay one and have asked the seller for the date. This badge has always been a mystery for me so it is great to get a lead on it. Regards Denis

There are two versions of the cap badge, I have shoulder titles and buttons as well, but I have never seen the collar badge before, very interesting.

Looking at my files I have a facing pair of white metal horses which came with the titles, cap badges and buttons. I have always put these down as collar badges and I am curious as to the badge you show as a collar, could it be an officers field service cap badge as it appears to be in gold gilt?

Default Imperial Frontiersmen

Hi Rob,
Thanks for your comments and interesting there are 2 versions of the horse cap badge. The little one could well be a FSC badge, I put a ? after it as unsure what it was. I presume it is Victorian with QVC crown but surprising it has a slider?
Regards Denis

The Imperial Frontiersmen were formed in the 1930s by a group that broke away from the Legion of Frontiersmen. The Victorian Crown is obviously out of period but I doubt very much that the use of it was authorised anyway.
