Hi John

Thanks for your reply and sorry not to have acknowledged it earlier. In between time, I found the website maintained by the NZANS and was able to track down one of mine. It's a great site and has some really good bio stuff there.

A LOT of work has gone into that with married names, dates of death, etc.

Yes, you are correct the Bay badge has got a flatter crown and the ferns are a little different. The red enamel of the Bay effort is a little "muddy" and both the ones that I've seen are "burnt" around the edges of the cross.

Cheers and thanks!

Default WW2 VAD uniform

To quote Confucius, "to find shoe, look for hat". I finally located my VAD uniform colour photo in a filing cabinet. The reason that I could not find it in my computer files was that we only had colour prints, not computers, 40 years ago.
I was given the uniform by the wearer and her identity discs with various VAD insignia included.

Would that uniform actually be post-VAD, when she would have been enlisted in the Australian Army Medical Womens' Service.

With the rising sun badges and colour patches, it looks more like AAMWS to me but does not have the metal AAMWS titles. She probably transferred from the VADs.
