Flight Charts - information please
Please will somebody help me with this one: As a Christmas present I want to buy flight charts for southern England for a private pilot new to flying in UK. I know absolutely nothing about such things and would appreciate advice as to what scale of the charts I should be looking for.
Many thanks, John

John, you need to speak to these people. They are the best general aviation suppliers. https://www.flightstore.co.uk
Eddie PS. No connection just a satisfied customer. PPS - you may also need "flight plates" which give details of airfields etc |

Thanks Eddie, I will email them and buy their recommendation.
Stumped over this one I knew I would get the right answer here - never lets one down. All the best John

Hi John
The other alternative is to visit a flying club (if there is one near you) and ask to purchase a "half-million" flight chart for the particular area you require, eg South East England etc. Most flying clubs have a "shop" where these things can be obtained, and you may find it an interesting experience too. All the best. Jeff |

Thanks Jeff, that sounds very interesting, and will check that one out as I may be able to get some more ideas for what to buy my son, a private pilot with over twenty years experience of flying in Zimbabwe and South Africa and due back in UK today where he will look to converting his South African licence to a UK one.
I guess he will find air space a bit more crowded than he is used to. Cheers, John
