I found this sole lurking for $20 (Toronto show as well) How could one say no? Does anybody know when they stopped using CAVTC badge?

There is some mystery around this badge. It has been attributed to the CAFVC, but to date documentation has not been located to support this. A GO authorized a Canadian Armoured Corps badge in 1940, but it is not clear which design that was. C. Brooker suggests the badge was an interim officers' pattern badge, circa 1945-46, but there is absolutely no evidence to support that theory. The RCAC was an administrative corps, not a fighting corps. It trained and ran training establishments, and as such the actual personnel on the strength of the corps was not great. Most training personnel were assigned from armoured regiments.

Thank you all for the input. This badge is a mystery. I always wondered if it was a new pattern for the Armoured Corps that was rejected but badges made anyway. You just don't see many of them. I have never been to Camp Borden museum. I wonder if they have any info?
