CWAC Officers set?
Hello!
A recent pickup at the Toronto Show yesterday. Comments welcomed. My thoughts are a nice early war pattern officers cap and matching collars. All other officer badges I have seen have had screw posts and frosted silver and gilding. Could they be an NCO set? All maker marked Scully. |

David, Nice set of officer's badges. Not sure about early war, as the Corps wasn't authorized until 1942.

Ok thanks. Possible first pattern? I can't ever recall seeing lugs on CWAC officer badges?

This is a nice set of badges. The photos don't do the colouring of them justice.....they must be seen in person! I love them and I don't collect army at all!

The cap badge looks like it has been damaged. Is the bottom of the overlay stem broken off?
Next question. Should the badges be gilt over copper or is the colour not coming out in the photos? Phil

Here is the set that I have that are also maker marked Scully and lug backed. I believe that Phil is correct in noticing the broken stem on the leaves as in this example it can been seen extending down between Army and Corps.

Yes it would appear some damage as compared to your beautiful set. No question mine were "well loved". Any idea of time frame for issue?
