Default Modern Australian Royal Australian Armoured Corps coloour patches

Modern Australian Royal Australian Armoured Corps colour patches

1st introduced around 1993 and worn on the slouch hat. At around this time, the RAAC Regiments started to wear the slouch hat with emu plumes rather than the black beret on ceremonial occasions (due to the Light Horse history of most of the regiments).

Very nice. If I can find my Artillery ones I will post them.

Are the last two inlieu of a 'Colour Patch'?

54 Bty,
They are woven beret badges for the 2nd Cavalry Regiment and the 4th/19th Prince of Wales' Light Horse

The last two bullion badges were just scanned at the same time as the colour patches. :-)

They aren't RAAC patches - cadets perhaps?

@Chris - thanks mate.

@Bob,

Sorry don't have the information to hand, but I am almost certain that the badges you have are Senior Scout Patrol badges. They may be British or commonwealth issues but they should be easy to track down. (The give away is the maroon border to the badges).

Mate, the top right colour patch is actually that of the Sydney University Regiment (not an RAAC unit).

...still believe that these could be senior scout patrol badges. Haven't given that idea up yet. As always - can't find what I'm looking for, but if you look on ebay, specifically here you'll see a copy set of senior scout patrol badges (I have copied the image and included it here). I've also managed to find a picture of senior scout shirt (Pre-1967 as Senior Scouts stopped there in the UK) on a rather dodgy looking bloke, which I've also attached - although the bloke looks suspect, the shirt is correct!

NB: There are more patrol badges than those listed in this set - they were named after explorers and the like: Captain Cook, Scott, Raleigh etc...

Nice - the ones in the left hand picture are all unofficial patches.

The RAAC barracks patches are also available online - available from www.colourpatch.com.au.
