Unknown SGTC title
Does anyone know what this title is, please? I assume the TC means Training Corps but what do SG mean?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

Many thanks for that, Jon. Was it an equivalent organization to the cadets of the time, do you know, and at what period it was in existence? It's one I have never heard of before.

Until other info is posted there is a section about the "Girls Training Corps" on Wiki , it was the "army" version with GNTC (Girls Nautical Training Corps) and the WJAC (Women's Junior Air Corps) covering the other services.
It was formed in 1941 and in 1964 the GTC and WJAC amalgamated to become the Girls Venture Corps. There is no specific mention of the SGTC but I would assume they were part of the same organisation. In the book "Lumberjills: Britain's Forgotten Army" By Joanna Foat , it is noted that in June 1943 the Scottish Girls Training Corps had decided to form a Special Corps for the 14-16 age group. National Association of Training Corps for Girls .

Many thanks for this further information. At least I now know roughly when it existed and was part of other organizations. I greatly appreciate your help.
