Yes, my badge has serif lettering, it was the first East Surrey cap badge I bought as I said from William Tobin.

When I saw one with sans serif letters I was at first suspicious, but as time went on I found out that my original serif letter badge was unusual. I don't have it to hand at the moment but I think the construction is different to the others.

It is certainly strange in that it deviates from the authorised pattern. I would love to know who made it and when.

Many thanks for posting, this is a completely new variant for me, but obviously not to other collectors, I have discovered that Matti also has one in his East Surrey album.
