Lovely badge Ron.
I think I recall a thread on here when the forum’s early days c.2008 where a member said they had or had seen an ORs badge with reverse scrolls. Does this exist or is it a badge myth? |

An interesting button,
May I ask what the letters on the points of the star mean, and why a star? Lastly, what is their link to the Black Watch please? Thank you Ron Chris |

Chris, letters are Glenalmond Highland Rifle Volunteer Corps.
The star is the sign of the Trinity entwined and reversed. Taken from the Arms of Trinity College. For a short while the Corps was attached to the 4VBRH, many of the instructors were serving or ex Black Watch men. The badge is the same as the old 4VBRH, many former members of the corps went on to serve in various Black Watch Bns. Ron. |

Correction not from the Arms but from the seal.

Black Watch Association life membership card issued to 2693950 J. MCINTOSH dated 17 June 1935. Along with his two dog tags stamped 'P' indicating Presbyterian religion.
You will notice from the badge illustration that the wording on the scrolls are reversed this is a full year before I had previously thought! Last edited by rmarsden; 22-09-20 at 09:00 AM. |

A particularly sharp strike with good silver plating on this 02-36 OR's badge.
Probably for bandsman or pipers. |
