For completeness on Ludlow I have uploaded the White metal version. The marking on the back is very clear LUDLOW LONDON

Thanks Paul, a lovely badge, yours is the only other one apart from mine, which was the subject of my thread here in 2013 that I have seen. Mine has sterling stamped diagonally on the reverse of the right wing and Ludlow London on the bottom reverse of the parachute rigging which is probably how yours is marked.
The one I have has long lugs and the initials TTW scratched on the reverse, it has also been curved slightly for wear in the beret.

Jack.

The labels I get off ebay , they are metal engraved on black, and self adhesive. very cheap but the more you order the better it is.
Paul. Great collection and a useful reference. Could you please post the ebay link or reference for the labels.

I have no idea either, I have accumulated 2 different ones as they are not common. I do not know how we can prove either way, but my sensible thoughts are why go for something you have to upkeep when you can have a nickel plated or white metal badge and do nothing to keep it shining .

What I can say is both my examples have not been plated , and compared with each other are very different so would indicate possibly more than one manufacturer perhaps?

Regards
Paul
