I don't think you could, I did see the film in that year and I do remember the original and very popular figures on cards, but, I suspect three would have cost more than that.

You would probably know better than me, but in 1983 when ROTJ came out you could most certainly buy a figure for £1.49. I know that for a fact as I got exactly £1.50 pocket money that year after I had mucked out the Horses and fed the Cows before cleaning the Guns and hanging the days shoot. After buying the newest release, I would rush down to the local spar and treat myself to a couple of "Mojo's", "Black Jacks" or "Fruit Salads" which were Half Penny each. Happy days
