Dog Tag

Today, I came into possession of this SAAF dog tag. It is the same size and shape as the more common fibre tag. But it is made out of brass. I am not sure if the details are stamped in or engraved? Would there have been a round one also in brass? Sorry, they are slightly out of focus. The rear is plain brass.
