Default Royal 22e Regiment

An observation. The Royal 22e Regiment cap badge uses the 1868 shield from the Quebec coat of arms, which was replaced with a revised version in 1939. The significant difference is the number of fleur de lis, two versus three. Is it an oversight that the Van Doos should have incorporated the new shield in their badge design?
