Trying to identify grandads lapel badges
Hello,
I am new here and am trying to identify the unit my grandad served in by his lapel badges. I am in the process of applying for his records but figured I may also get some answers here. My mum says he was with the 15/19 Hussars, but looking here it looks more like the queens dragoon’s to me. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you |

King's Dragoon Guards - double headed eagle.
The eagle design is still worn by the QDG since the amalgamation in the 1960's. |

I served in KDG, what years was he in KDG?
As Alan writes QDG still wear the cap badge but not the collars as pictured. they wear the old Bays collars. |

Thank you both for your quick replies. @sketchley_kid I don’t have the dates that he served yet, all I know was that it was during ww2. He didn’t talk about his service to my mum or her siblings, the only way I’m likely to get any information is from his service records which I need to apply for.
