Does anyone recognise this maker and have any information as to when they were in operation? Thanks in anticipation. |

the same to be true for Lambourne - I have the full name version but don't think I have any with the shortcut name. |

I'd go for Ludlow.

I always think Liberty (Liberty and Co.) but the hallmark looks like the one for "L&Co; John Lawrence: "Ledsam Vale & Co." Birmingham" [ http://www.silvercollection.it/engli...ermarksXL.html ]

Good call. Date wise I would go with Liberty & Co. However, did they in fact ever make badges or was it just tableware etc? Ludlow still looks the favorite for the time being. I will have to adjust my view on the date of the badge. Thanks. Kevin Last edited by 41st; 15-05-09 at 01:54 PM. Reason: Missed out the obvious. |

KLR has a similar view.
Bantam, Da iawn diolch, a ti? I'm not tempted with Lambourne as I've not seen any examples of Officer quality badges from them before. Of course now they'll be along like extra time minutes in a Heiniken Cup semi. Hwyl, Kevin |

Here you go Frank.
From memory the hallmarks are:- 1. Large SWB c.1898. 2. Small SWB c.1943 3. L&Co SWB just marked Sterling. 4. RMREM c.1990s. 5. Welsh Regiment collars c. 1908. Hwyl, Kevin |

Hello Kevin,
I was just referring to badges actually marked L&Co, I have never seen a single example with a complete set of silver hallmarks of any cycle. Regards Frank |
