Phil,
No 2 I believe may also be South African and SAAF related. The 'AS' i think is English for 'Air S....' and the 'LD' is Afrikaans for 'Lug D....' Steven |

I think the Bomb Disposal badges are also all South African. It looks like the ends of the wreaths are capped with proteas, so if they are, the badges would definitely be SA.

2 - possibly a bilingual SA Air Force trade or mustering badge? A for 'Air' and L for 'Lug'. Can't think what the S and D would stand for, though.
3 - the winged wheel was the emblem of the SA Railways. Perhaps one of the SA Engineer Corps' railway operating companies?

No 10 and I think No 3 also are Nazi German - Deutsche Reichsbahn. No 10 probably a hat badge and the other a sleeve badge.

10 & 3 aren't German, the winged wheel and "DR" follows the design of unofficial British badges for Despatch Riders. 10 has been identified as South African by the look of it.
I have a few collar tab insignia etc to Reichsban I think. These few "winged wheels" are immediately to hand as I bought them a couple of days ago. Illustration of design of Reichsban Medical armband design Last edited by leigh kitchen; 09-10-18 at 03:17 PM. Reason: Image added |
