AUXILIARY UNITS VEHICLE INSIGNIA
The secret British Resistance Organisation used the tactical sign 490 white numerals on a red background and two versions of the Home Forces Div sign.
However, there were Royal Signals attached with transport - what colours would the 490 have been? |

White over blue with a numeral in red was standard for Royal Corps of Signals vehicle serials after an early period when white numerals on black were used as on HQ vehicles, but I don't know exactly when this change happened?
But with the Auxiliaries who knows what bluffs and double bluffs may have been employed, so it would be nice to see some proof. Rob Last edited by Rob Miller; 11-07-19 at 06:25 AM. |
