WW1 Canadian Machine Gunners Brodie Insignia

i have some interest in buying this brodie, however i'm quite unsure of the painted insignia. It appears to be a Machine Gun Corp insignia but i haven't seen a white arrow before. Would really like to hear some opinions from the experts.
